Opera's role in award-winning design

Congratulations to our customer Converteam, who have just won a 2009 Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Innovation Award (Power and Energy category) for work on the Hydrogenie superconducting power generator. Hydrogenie has exploited developments in high temperature superconducting (HTS) materials to develop a compact hydroelectric power generator offering up to 99% efficiency, and the Opera electromagnetic simulator was used extensively during the design phase.
