The Concerto MOM analysis module computes the response of high frequency electromagnetic devices in three dimensions using the advanced numerical technique Method of Moments.

Accurate modeling of a structure is carried out by representing the conductors, dielectrics and thin materials by a collection of surface triangles and wires. Since only the surfaces are modeled the size of the model is significantly reduced compared to differential methods (where the entire 3D volume must be meshed).

Boundary conditions can be applied to imply perfect conducting or magnetic walls, or infinite ground planes, which can also be used to impose symmetry in the model. Sources can be plane waves or point sources.

Applications of Concerto MOM include:

• Antennas: Wire, patch and general 3D antennas can be modeled very efficiently using the Concerto MOM module. Arbitrary wires and patches can be included so that complex structures are easily analyzed.
• Antenna Coupling: Only the surfaces of the antennas need to be modeled, so the distance between antennas has no affect on accuracy or speed of calculation.
• Installed Performance: Antennas can be placed on larger structures (such as aircraft, ships) and the influence on performance and coupling to other critical equipment can be determined.
• Radar Signatures: The RCS calculation for objects can be computed using Concerto MOM, with specialized techniques included to produce mono-static RCS extremely efficiently.
