CONCERTO Modeler Print E-mail

A fully featured geometric modeler provides the input to Concerto, with an easy-to-use interface for defining the geometry and associated properties of the model.

The Modeler can import data from other CAD systems, or allows complex models to be created by performing Boolean operations on simple primitives (sphere, torus, block, prism/pyramid and cylinder/cone). Faces can be swept to create new bodies, including along selected edges and with specified angle of twists.

A 2D sketching interface allows all primitives to be drawn using the mouse only, a fast and easy to learn way to input models.

facility on the Modeler.

The Expert Mesher is used to create the mesh relevant to the analysis selected (finite difference mesh including Conforming Elements for the FDTD analysis, surface triangulation including wire elements for Moment Method analysis, and full 3D tetrahedral volume mesh for Finite Element analysis).

Parameterization

Models can be easily parameterized whilst they are being built, or an existing model can later be parameterized as required. The full command history is stored for each model, allowing easy access to the commands used to create a model.

This facility is ideally suited to creating a library of component parts that are then used to create other models at a later stage.

Key features include:

  • CAD file import/export, including de-featuring and healing
  • Parameterization facilities
  • Scripting language, with ability to create user defined macros
  • Links to Optimizer+ (optional module)
  • Easy to use sketching facility for model input
  • Advanced modeler features for the power user
  • Expert Mesher for mesh creation
  • Launch any analysis module directly from Modeler
