As Vector Fields Ltd, of Oxford (UK), expands, Alex Michaelides takes on the wider responsibilities of Applications Manager, following a number of years in customer support, where he specialised in electromagnetics and the development of application oriented software.

Subsequent to his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Warwick, and a number of years lecturing in electrical machines with research on switched reluctance and hybrid stepper systems, he spent several years in Cyprus on Power Systems Engineering for the local Authority planning and developing transmission systems.

Since joining Vector Fields in 1999 Alex has co-authored 27 scientific papers on topics ranging from improvements in rotating machines to electromagnetic modelling.
