We are pleased to announce that a 64-bit Linux version of OPERA is now available both to new customers, and to existing customers as an upgrade. The release of a Linux version of OPERA recognises the fact that Linux is becoming increasingly popular. The Linux version of the OPERA suite is based on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 system, and software licensing is carried out using FlexLm. The move to 64-bit processing on a PC platform significantly enhances the capability of OPERA. Already one of the fastest analysis packages for electromagnetic design, 64-bit processing effectively removes any software limitations on the use of computer memory allowing very large models to be run quickly and efficiently. For more details on the cost of upgrading to a Linux version, please contact your local office or Agent. |
